This book is based on the dreams of a cowboy turned rodeo clown, whose dream of becoming a captain of his own sailing vessel, trying to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps, meets his destiny in finding a steel hull motor-sailor vessel. This vessel has a heroic past, steeped deep within the Second World War and underground forces of occupied France. The dreamer befriends another cowboy and soon the two cowboys join forces of will, and take on a dangerous mission to the wild jungles of South America in the 1970’s.
This unlikely adventure begins on a large Montana ranch, where a cowboy/rodeo clown works checking fence lines and tending cattle in the high country. He works during the winter cold months, before leaving in the spring to work the rodeo circuit during the summer months, into the early fall and then returns to the ranch for winter work. Before starting a new assignment to a new section at the highest point on the large ranch, the cowboy/rodeo clown, is joined by a new hire, assigned by the ranch owner to show him the job, and help him manage this section of the ranch. The two cowboys work well together as a team, and become fast friends and the older of the two, the cowboy/rodeo clown, decides to train the newcomer in the art of rodeo clowning.
Before the two leave the ranch the next spring, a map is discovered by the rodeo clown dreamer, which was left in an old sea trunk by his seafaring grandfather. He believes it is a treasure map and a gift left to him as an inheritance. This event sets up an even greater adventure that changes many lives, and is the cause of a mission of much greater value to human kind, bringing together many from diverse walks of life in a common objective to save a broken culture. Take this trail with these two rodeo clowns and follow them as they weather the storms of adventure with others who risk it all aboard the hero ship, “The Black Gull”.
"The Black Gull Sails Again" is book two in the series "The Black Gull", an adventure which starts on a large Montana ranch. This story begins with one man's dream and continues as certain circumstances align themselves and events beginning with a strong friendship which builds into brotherhood and two cowboys become the best rodeo clown team in the business. During this time, fights with dangerous rodeo bulls, and many close calls are a backdrop, which brings to life, a dream of one of the partners, who wins "The Black Gull" in a card game. He convinces his partner to follow him on a treasure hunt taking them to the jungles of Brazil. "The Black Gull" unknown to the partners is a hero ship from World War II.
During the time they reach this hero ship, and take possession of it. They meet a very rich and adventurous woman, who joins in on their treasure hunt. She is an accomplished sailor and turns out to be a most valuable partner, as these two novice seaman learn fast, following her lead. After facing raging storms at sea together, they at last reach the location of the treasure they seek, but not before facing a formidable force of Indigenous bandits, who attack and pursue them up and down a jungle river, before they can overcome this danger.
The subsequent adventure introduces the two cowboy rodeo clowns to a new life of opulence and marriage. This results in bringing together a family of wealthy partners and evolves into a new project to save a broken Nation's children. A new challenge captures them all, with its grip of terror, when one of the female partners is abducted. Come along and take a ride on the hero ship "The Black Gull" in this book.
